SFCM TAC Graduate 2023

Graduating from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Technology and Applied Composition was incredible. The curriculum was challenging and pushed me to go beyond the skills that I sought out in the program to acquire. In addition to sharpening my music compositions and music production abilities, I learned projection mapping, OSC and CC programming for controllers and lighting, MAXmsp programming, how to produce concerts with ensembles, how to perform with ensembles to click tracks, composing for quadraphonic and octaphonic speaker arrays, how to incorporate data into my compositions, Dolby Atmos workflow, spatial audio, and so much more. This program broadened my musical horizons immensely and I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of TAC and SFCM.

Starting a new career right out of school is pretty amazing, and going from graduation to being the TAC Studio Assistant is both fun and rewarding. I appreciate the opportunity to give back to my alma mater, and I am humbled to be chosen to assist in the maintenance, upgrades, and coordination of our studios, as well as assist with record engineering, advise in producing the Composition Workshop Sony Project, and produce concerts in the Technology and Applied Composition department at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Becoming a staff member on a part time basis affords me the precious time to continue to compose music for media and produce music to perform in a city I love.
